Employee Monitoring System & Personal Alert Safety System – Distress Signals, Alarms, Hazards

The GEM System™
With its revolutionary spread-spectrum radio technology, the Grace Employee Monitoring System (GEM System™) provides instant and continuous safety monitoring of personnel. If an employee becomes incapacitated, a personalized distress signal is transmitted automatically, identifying, by name, the person in trouble. The GEM System™ allows one person to effectively monitor the status of hundreds of employees, in a number of areas and/or large groups. GEMS™ is the LINK TO SAFETY!!

GEM System™ Applications: Firefighting, Industry, Hazardous Materials, Confined Space Operations and Rescue, Man Down Systems, Personal Safety, Major Operations, plus Many More

Industrial
Automatically notifies if any employee becomes injured, is otherwise incapacitated, or has a medical emergency!

Fire/Rescue
In the sudden event of a flashover or collapse situation, Grace Industries` GEM System™ will immediately identify, by name, any firefighter(s) in distress!! It`s the firefighters` LINK TO SAFETY!

Correctional & Security
When an officer or employee in a correctional facility needs assistance, Grace Industries` GEM System™ will immediately identify, by name, the officers or employees in distress!! It`s the correctional officer`s LINK TO SAFETY!

Firefighters, Industrial workers & Correctional officers want the security of knowing that help will be there if they need it; especially those workers who operate in hazardous environments, confined spaces, or who service dangerous machinery.

Using revolutionary spread spectrum radio telemetry, combined with patented space age solid state accelerometer, each high powered Transmitting Personal Alert Safety System (T PASS II™) transmitter will immediately relay the distress signal back to the command post indicating that an alarm condition exists. GEM System`s™ LCD Command Receiver employs visual and audible warnings that a firefighter`s T PASS II™ alarm has been activated. The GEM System™ detects a lack of motion by the employee(s), and automatically transmits a distress, or `MAN-DOWN` signal via spread spectrum radio telemetry to the Command Receiver. Employees may also activate the manual `call for help` feature to immediately summon assistance.

During alarm conditions the name of the employee in distress are prominently displayed on the LCD Display Screen. The distress signal can be manually activated using the alarm button, or automatically activated if the firefighter is injured and ceases movement. Additionally, command officers, at the push of a button, will know immediately the names of all personnel who are on the scene and whether or not their T PASS II™ device is activated.

Regardless of the size of the personnel base or type of Incident Command System in your department, Grace Industries, Inc. has a GEM System™ to suit your needs.

One and two station departments, fire companies in rural locations, military and airport installations can select the GEM System`s™ 2, 4, 8, 12, or 16 channel configurations, based on personnel and response system requirements.

The ability to respond rapidly to an employee`s call for help, whether activated manually or automatically, can mean the difference between life and death. Firefighters, rescue workers, industrial workers and correctional/security officers risk injury or death on every incident. Employees are more confident when the employer demonstrates the level of concern necessary to respond when they are in trouble.

PASS Devices
The word PASS is an acronym for Personal Alert Safety System. Its purpose is to sound a loud, highly discernible audio alarm if a distress condition occurs. The device will sense an absence of motion if the wearer becomes immobilized for 25 seconds. Its alarm must function in the manual or automatic mode to assist rescue crews in locating the firefighter in distress.

Grace Industries, Inc. is the only United States manufacturer of Personal Alert Safety System (PASS) devices. These rugged and durable life safety products are the smallest, lightest, and LOUDEST PASS devices on the market. Third party certified to meet or exceed the requirements of NFPA Standard 1982 (`98 edition), they are available in motion only models and motion and temperature models.

The Super PASS IITM is the first of the `Auto On` series of NFPA compliant Personal Alert Safety Systems (PASS) from Grace Industries, Inc. The `Auto On` feature provides the next level of assurance that PASS are not only being worn, but are turned on `automatically` when removed from the `Storage` position.

When removed from the `storage` position, the Super PASS IITM Accountability Storage Key automatically pops off putting the unit into the `Sensing Mode` (ON). When Super PASS IITM turns ON, a series of loud attention getting audio tones are heard accompanied by the visual wig-wag display of four yellow L.E.D`s, indicating that the unit is in the `Motion Sensing Mode`.

When there is a lack of motion for approximately 18 to 23 seconds the unit goes into the `Pre-Alarm` mode and annunciates an audible `Pre-Alert` signal; the yellow wig-wag display is replaced by the intermittent pulsing of four red L.E.D`s accompanied by a sweeping `Pre-Alarm` audio signal, which grows progressively louder. The longer the unit is in `Pre-Alarm`, the louder the sweeping `Pre-Alarm` signal becomes, signifying that the unit is closer to the full `Alarm` mode.

After a lack of motion lasting approximately 30 to 35 seconds, the unit goes into the `Alarm` mode. When in `Alarm` the `Pre-Alarm` display is replaced by the constant rapid pulsing of four red L.E.D`s, which is accompanied by loud audio `Alarm` signal that rapidly varies in pitch. This feature is invaluable for recognizing and locating downed firefighters. Once in `Alarm`, pressing both side buttons simultaneously can reset the unit.

When in the `Sensing` mode, the Super PASS IITM may be put into the `Alarm` mode at any time by manually pressing the `Alarm` button located on the front surface of the unit. To turn the Super PASS IITM Off, simply replace the Accountability Storage Key, thereby returning the unit to the `Storage` position, and pressing both side buttons simultaneously.

The Accountability Storage Key is a value-added benefit of Grace Industries Super PASS IITM. The clear Identification Window provides the opportunity to specifically identify the user through the ability to personalize the keys with photos, names, numbers, department ID, bar codes, etc. The clear access window easily snaps into place to protect the enclosed information and provide instant access for rapid identification should the need arise.
