MINING, GPS POSITIONING DATA
In mining, GPS positioning data can be critical to mission planning, safety and legal claim. Thales Navigation has designed a number of GPS survey systems, optimized for mining surveys to acquire and stake out features with precision accuracy: Ashtech Solutions, GNSS Studio, Z-Max Surveying System, Z-Xtreme and ZXW-Eurocard. Thales Navigation GPS can also be used to lay out shaft connections from the surface to guide tunneling.
GEODETIC DETAIL OVERLAYS, PHOTOGRAMMETRY, 3D MAPPING
Thales Navigation offers a number of precision GPS survey systems for photogrammetry, or photogrammetric methodology used in the construction of maps. Photogrammetry provides detailed 3D mapping, while GPS positioning provides enabling technology that makes photogrammetric maps invaluable in a large number of industries and applications. Thales Navigation GPS survey systems provide the precision measurements and calculations for topographic and geodetic detail overlays, depicting true elevations and centimeter-accurate positions. Thales Navigation offers GPS solutions ideal for photogrammetry: Ashtech Solutions, Z-Xtreme, and ...

MARINE SURVEYING SOLUTIONS
Thales Navigation professional GPS products serve to overcome the technical challenges inherent in applications linked to marine surveying solutions by providing cost-effective, accurate positioning. GPS has become increasingly important in marine survey and navigation, because it contributes to improving the overall quality, accuracy and productivity of these operations.
DREDGING
Dike construction, land reclamation, beach nourishment, and artificial island construction are also significant elements of the dredging industry. These projects require tools such as suction or cutter dredgers, lateral offloading boats, barges and crane-equipped pontoons as well as quality, productivity and cost control. This cost tradeoff moves the dredging industry to use leading-edge positioning techniques to ensure the highest possible return on investment. More recently, the use of real-time differential GPS has been adopted for rapid project implementation and superior accuracy.
KINEMATIC GPS TECHNIQUES
Precision demanding dredging activities require the centimeter accuracy provided by real-time kinematic GPS techniques. The techniques are commonly used for on-line tide compensation and gauge evolution during loading. The Thales Navigation Aquarius dual-frequency receiver with LRK (Long Range Kinematic) technology provides astonishing performance for dredging applications. When sub-meter accuracy is acceptable, the Thales Navigation Sagitta with built-in HF data link provides differential GPS positioning for small-and medium- scale projects covering several tens of kilometers. The solutions offered are ADU5, and:
ASHTECH 3011 GPS COMPASS
The Ashtech 3011 GPS Compass from Thales Navigation is the ideal heading measurement instrument for meeting the requirements of modern navigation systems, which are increasingly being used by fishermen, navigation professionals and hydrographers.
MARINE SURVEYING, AQUARIUS
Aquarius is the ultimate answer to the demanding world of marine surveying, with dual-frequency LRK kinematic processing technology for fast, real-time centimeter-level positioning and fully operational radio link up to 40 km.
AQUARIUS2
Aquarius2 has been developed for those who need to add a new dimension to marine surveying: precise heading with greater processing speed and more flexibility.
DG14 SENSOR, DG16 SENSOR, SUB-METER GPS +SBAS RECEIVERS, SATELLITE BASED AUGMENTATION SYSTEMS
The DG14 Sensor and DG16 Sensor are low cost, new generation, sub-meter GPS +SBAS receivers. The OEM board solution for high-end integration, DG14 incorporates signals from Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), such as WAAS, EGNOS and MSAS, to provide sub-meter differential positioning.
SAGITTA
The Sagitta receiver is intended for small and medium-scale marine surveys for which position precision and ease of use are equally important.
