Milestone Systems, a leading developer of open platform IP video management solutions, and Vidient Systems, Inc., a leading developer of video analytics software used for security and safety applications, recently announced a partnership to deliver solutions that substantially improve the productivity of IP video surveillance.
The companies will integrate Vidient's flagship analytics software, SmartCatch® 3.0, into Milestone's open platform XProtectTM IP video management solution. Traditionally, surveillance personnel have needed to manually monitor hundreds of cameras, examining each individually to determine if any events of concern were occurring. With the new integration, every camera will be constantly and automatically monitored by Vidient software to detect suspicious events. When a threat is discovered, the Milestone software will immediately alert surveillance personnel and display the suspicious video for further investigation and fast response. By freeing personnel to focus only on cameras where events of interest are occurring, the Vidient/Milestone integration substantially improves both personnel productivity and the overall security level they deliver.
