CA released its latest version of CA Recovery Management, designed to help companies simplify management, tighten security and speed recovery of critical business information.
CA Recovery Management includes new releases of CA ARCserve Backup, CA XOsoft High Availability (formerly CA XOsoft WANSyncHA) and CA XOsoft Replication (formerly CA XOsoft WANSync), offering channel partners and their customers the latest advances in data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery.
“Any company that is serious about continuity planning is keenly aware of the challenges embedded in coordinating and synchronizing multiple data protection processes,” said Jon Toigo, CEO of Toigo Partners International and 25-year veteran disaster recovery planner and author of five books on disaster recovery planning. “Between proprietary mirroring schemes used by various storage hardware vendors, different tape backup strategies, snapshot technologies, and other data copy processes, just monitoring the completion of nightly backups or validating the integrity of closed multiple proprietary mirrors is a source of on-going expense, aggravation and pain. CA Recovery Management is taking the right steps to centralize the management of data protection services, complementing the administration of its own branded backup and replication products with a robust scripting language that can be – and is being – used by smart business continuity professionals to bring third party data protection processes under scrutiny. From where I’m sitting, this is a foundational component of contemporary disaster recovery and business continuity strategy.”
The new CA Recovery Management solution includes:
- CA ARCserve Backup provides comprehensive data protection with centralized management and advanced features designed to address changing business needs. This solution combines disk and tape backup with integrated anti-virus and encryption tools.
- CA XOsoft Replication and CA XOsoft High Availability are business continuity and disaster recovery solutions that integrate replication, continuous data protection (CDP), automated failover and automated disaster recovery testing to help ensure the protection and recoverability of business-critical applications.
“We already depend on CA XOsoft High Availability to fortify remote data protection and rapid disaster recovery of mission critical data across our 10 offices,” said Ben Weinberger, director of IT for Ruden McClosky, a Florida-based law firm. “Now, given all the benefits of the new releases, we are planning to replace our current backup solution with CA ARCserve Backup to take advantage of integrated recovery management.”
The numerous enhancements to CA Recovery Management safeguards data stored on diverse Microsoft platforms, both locally and in remote offices.
“IT needs a wide range of recovery-management technology to ensure cost-effective and efficient protection of critical business information,” said Greg Kirchoff, director, Global ISV Infrastructure Partners at Microsoft Corp. “CA continues to deliver innovative solutions that provide tremendous value in helping organizations achieve their high availability and disaster recovery goals across key Microsoft platforms such as Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008, Windows Essential Business Server, SharePoint Server 2007 and Windows Server 2008.” |
