BAE Systems, under an agreement with Micromem Applied Sensor Technologies Inc., will co-produce nano-sensor technology for applied use in military, commercial, and homeland security sectors.
BAE Systems' Microelectronics Center in Nashua will further develop Micromem's designs with the goal of bringing them to production.
According to Gino Manzo, foundry director at BAE in Nashua, this arrangement will advance technology and design of products that are very expensive to develop but have a wide range of uses.
Micromem's patented submicron nano-sensor can be designed for use in highly instruments used to measure the strength and direction of magnetic fields, called accurate magnetometers, and for threat-detection solutions for defense and homeland security.
BAE Systems is a global defense and aerospace company with one of its three worldwide headquarters in Nashua. |
