French information systems company Bull has released its integrated data protection and management software StoreWay Calypso for data backup, archiving, replication and search requirements across all major server and storage infrastructures.
Some of the advanced features of StoreWay Calypso include file de-duplication, data classification and indexing, and hierarchical storage management. The software also reduces data storage costs by optimizing storage across multiple formats, while maintaining rapid search and access capabilities.
The company said support of popular applications such as Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint, Lotus Notes, and Oracle, combined with self-service search and recovery features, provides close integration with business applications. With this broadly supported release, it aims to capture a large share of the growing enterprise content management market.
Benoit Hallez, director of Storeway business unit at Bull said: "New approaches are required to protect both traditional data centre information and new types of data. The StoreWay Calypso suite responds to these challenges: built around a common software platform, different data protection and management products can be added in a modular way, and they even communicate with each other."
StoreWay Calypso is available worldwide with prices starting from 1,850 euros ($2,842) for a configuration supporting the tape-based backup of a single Windows server. |
