Data security, or rather the lack of it, hit the headlines last week, with a documentary being aired in the U.K. showing an undercover reporter purchasing bank account details and other personal information from a man with ties to an outsourced Indian call center operation.

The news has evoked outrage among consumers, and the U.K. government has decided to investigate the matter.

A recent survey in the U.K. found that 50% of organizations aren't doing enough to control the use of customer data.
