FilesX, a leading provider of adaptive data protection and disaster recovery solutions, today announced that it will co-host an interactive webcast with Aberdeen Group to address the complexities of protecting mission critical data in remote and branch offices (ROBO). The event, “Overcoming the Complexities of Remote Office Data Protection,” will take place on September 13, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Aberdeen’s Director, Data Management & Storage Research Avner Kedmi and FilesX’ Director of Marketing Richard Vining will discuss the importance of ROBO data protection strategies. It is widely accepted that information created in ROBO locations is just as valuable – and subject to the same federal mandates – as data stored in the primary data center. Yet, many organizations are still struggling to put an effective remote data protection strategy into practice without properly skilled IT personnel in each location.

Aberdeen’s Kedmi explains, “A recent Aberdeen benchmark study suggests that 61 percent of companies consider data protection a high priority. However the application of their central data protection policies to remote office data varies by company size, with only 45 percent of businesses under $1 billion in revenue using the same policies in remote offices versus 67 percent of companies over $1 billion in revenue. Since remote office data is just as critical to the business as central office data, the lack of data protection practices for remote office data puts smaller companies at increased risk of a serious and significant data loss.”

Webcast attendees will learn:

- How to create and effect continuous operational efficiencies across ROBO data protection processes while improving compliance with service level agreements and achieving recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives

- How to define and simplify the data protection and recovery processes required to satisfy remote office application availability requirements

- How Best In Class (BIC) companies are approaching the remote data protectionproblem

- Why relying on tape backup and off-site transport of tapes is leaving companies open to devastating loss
