Most business stay very busy working on projects that support the growth of that business. Many companies do not have a disaster recovery plan (DRP). Often there is a desire for a disaster recovery plan, but the level of effort and/ or cost required to create a DRP can cause this project to have a low priority relative to other more immediate projects. That is, until there is a failure that causes a significant outage or loss of data. It is our opinion that almost every site could benefit from both disaster recovery plan and business continuity plan. This paper provides us an in-depth overview of the comprehensive disaster recovery model. It describes both the organization and an approach to implement a successful disaster recovery / business continuity team.
