Detects both X-Ray and Gamma Radiation: Radiation Monitor & Alarm
Sensitivity Range: 0.1 R/h - 50+ R/h
The NukAlert™ is a state-of-the-art personal radiation monitor designed to alert the user to the presence of gamma ray and x-ray radiation fields and produce audible alarm chirp groups at specific time intervals. Exhaustively test, proven and verified by National Radiological Lab, the device is always ``ON``, constantly monitoring for acutely dangerous levels of radiation. The long-life battery is rated for 10 years of service.
The NukAlert`s sensor technology is based on a Cadmium Sulphide photocell and a radioluminescent rare earth phosphor (also known as a ``scintillator``) which emits photons of light when exposed to charged particles. The sensor signal is sampled with a small onboard microprocessor.
When x-ray or gamma radiation is detected within the active sensitivity range, the device will issue an series of audible chirps, alerting the owner. In order to determine the actual radiation level, simply locate the chirp count on the table located on the back of the device.
NukAlert™ monitors and samples the immediate environment continuously, 24/7. The long-life battery combined with this sensor technology provides continuous monitoring for a minimum of ten years with enough reserve to respond and alarm to a prolonged radiation emergency. The rugged device is completely sealed to prevent moisture or contaminants from affecting its operation.
