Biography

Ronald J. Sznaider serves as vice president of business development. In this position, Sznaider leads the enterprise system division. The division includes the professional services team which provides weather- enabled decision support systems that merge weather and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies for clients seeking to improve operational decisions, reduces risks, and minimize losses. Sznaider previously served as vice president of product management at Meteorlogix.

Sznaider has 25 years of experience in the weather industry, has experience in operational weather forecasting and applied weather research at the Naval Research Laboratory in Monterey, CA. At Ford Aerospace and Communications Corporation in Colorado Springs, CO, Sznaider worked in weather-related computer systems integration. He has also taught software design at the community college level in the Minneapolis area.

Sznaider has been with Meteorlogix for 20 years, with concentration in the areas of utilizing technology to enhance the use of weather information in business. His areas of expertise and specialization are the conceptualization of value-added weather products, 3-D visualization methods, satellite image processing, and the use of weather within a Geographical Information System (GIS).

Sznaider studied meteorology as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with graduate studies at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He conducted his graduate studies in computer software design at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Sznaider has been awarded several patents for creating new weather data processing techniques and was invited to address the World Meteorological Organization congress in Geneva, Switzerland, on the topic of effectively communicating complex weather information to the general public. He has published numerous papers, presented on a variety of weather-related topics, and has appeared as a subject matter expert on nationally televised weather documentaries. Sznaider is a member of the American Meteorological Society.
