Synopsis
Every organization’s DR/BCP program must be designed and managed to ensure that the organization can effectively recover from any interruption and continue its mission-critical business functions. The organization’s ability to recover and survive an outage relies, in large part, on the effectiveness of the IT recovery plan. Yet, too often, IT recovery plans do not adequately address all the tasks that are required to effectively complete the recovery. Nor do they adequately support the recovery requirements of the mission-critical business functions they are supporting. This presentation will identify key IT recovery planning issues, and ways to address them during the plan development, maintenance and testing phases.

This presentation will enable both technical and non-technical management level personnel to develop more effective IT recovery plan and how to better support their organization’s overall recovery needs. Some of the major points of discussion will be making the Data Center (IT) Plan part of a corporate plan, recovery requirements and strategies through the eyes of the business functions, and establishing policies and guidelines to foster a culture in which recovery planning and plan maintenance are part of the standard process.
