AU-360 Series Voice Evacuation Control Panel

Safe evacuation of occupants in a building experiencing a fire is critical. In most buildings, the occupants receive audible notification of the existence of a fire from bells or horns strategically placed throughout the facility. From general life experience, occupants recognize these signals as an indication of a fire alarm and proceed to evacuate the building. However, in certain occupancies, the consensus is that verbal instructions provide a more appropriate means for notifying occupants of a fire and instructing them to leave the facility. In these occupancies, the verbal instructions are provided by Emergency Voice/Alarm Signaling Systems that are interconnected to the building`s fire alarm system.

Emergency Voice/Alarm Signaling Systems have been primarily utilized in high-rise commercial buildings or hotels. Various state and local building codes addressing fire and life safety issues are now requiring that emergency voice/alarm signaling systems be installed in areas of assembly occupancy, such as restaurants, movie theaters, playhouses, auditoriums, school gymnasiums, and churches. These are typically small areas located in larger buildings or are small stand-alone facilities. The sophisticated voice/alarm signaling systems typically interconnected to high-rise commercial buildings or hotel fire alarm systems are designed for large applications and offer more sophisticated features than required for these small occupancies. Their sophistication may make installation in smaller applications cost prohibitive.

The Audiosone product line offers a building block approach for adding voice/alarm signaling systems of varying sophistication levels to any occupancy. The Audiosone Voice Evacuation Control Panel (VECP), which offers the capability of alert tones, prerecorded messages, and live voice messaging, provides a cost effective alternative for upgrading the fire alarm notification systems of assembly occupancies.
