The Customer Services team at Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc.company, continues to add new solutions that offer Cessna customers performance and safety enhancements.
Cessna Parts Distribution (CPD2 ) now carries the SpiderTracks system, a web-based tracking interface and a Spider tracking device combining satellite communication and GPS technology in one small, portable device that does not require an external antenna. The system allows aircraft to be tracked by users from any computer, at any time, from anywhere in the world.
Cessna owners also can now have their local Cessna authorized service facility install a Ballistic Recovery Systems (BRS) parachute designed for their model 172/182. The system uses a small portion of a baggage compartment without causing aerodynamic changes to the airframe.
Another new aftermarket option available through Cessna authorized service centers is the AmSafe Aviation Inflatable Restraint (AAIR®) system for Cessna models 177, 182, 206 and 210. The self-contained, self-powered airbag system weighs only two pounds per passenger placement and is compatible with standard seats and seatbelt attach points.
At its annual service station conference in September, CPD2 introduced the Aero Tect Product line for Cessna 172, 182, 206, 208, 300, 350 and 400 model aircraft. The product line includes precision cut paint protection film kits to protect the paint on the most commonly damaged exterior surfaces of aircraft: wheel pants, wing leading edges, gear struts and fairings.
During AirVenture 2008 in Oshkosh this July, CPD2 announced it will offer the Garmin® FliteLevel Extended Warranty™ for G1000® integrated avionics systems on Cessna models 172, 182, 206, 208, 350 and 400. The program became available Sept. 1 and can be purchased exclusively through Cessna authorized service facilities.
Garmin’s extended warranty program offers complete system-wide maintenance protection for everything from cockpit displays to Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), giving owners comprehensive protection against unexpected product failures when their standard two-year factory warranty expires. The extended warranty will provide parts, labor at the posted shop rate and freight for up to a maximum of five years coverage from the original aircraft warranty start date with no flight hour limitations. It also is transferable with the sale of the aircraft to which it applies.
Within the Customer Services function at Cessna, CPD2 provides global distribution of all spare parts applicable to Cessna propeller aircraft through a worldwide network of more than 410 independent Cessna and McCauley service facilities. Each center provides a consistently high level of service, including facilities, personnel, training, basic and special tools, parts and technical information. |
