Based on its recent analysis of the global wireless network monitoring systems market, Frost & Sullivan has recognized Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK) with the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Leadership.
Owing to its strong product offering, brand awareness, valid growth strategy, and global presence, Tektronix has been able to take and maintain a strong position in the market.
"The Frost & Sullivan Leadership Award is a great recognition of the success we've had in the marketplace in delivering valuable monitoring systems to our customers," said Doug Dickerson, Vice President and General Manager, Network Management, Tektronix. "Tektronix strives to be on the cutting edge of technology to provide scalable, flexible solutions that address the evolving needs of our customers, in particular the move to all-IP networks. Major operators have discovered that these networks are very complex to build, monitor and maintain. As a result, our size and experience in rolling out monitoring systems for these complex cutting-edge technologies is proving to be a strong benefit to our customers," said Doug Dickerson.
In 2003, Tektronix had a total market share of 6.7 percent. However, with the strategic acquisition of INET Technologies in September 2004, the company attained a major foothold in the market. In fact, it ranked first in global wireless network monitoring systems market in 2006, with a market share of 39.6 percent.
Tektronix has an in-depth understanding of the industry and a strong grasp on the current and future trends affecting the market. In 2006, Tektronix announced further extensions of IMS performance monitoring capabilities for true end-to-end IMS monitoring to its Unified Assurance Solution, which is a family of products for network management, service management, and customer management.
