Biometric fingerprint sensor manufacturer AuthenTec Inc. has announced it has acquired the software assets of Sunnyvale, Calif.-based EzValidation, including its EzPassport fingerprint authentication software, for an undisclosed sum.
AuthenTec said the transaction is expected to strengthen the company's client offering and provide the end user with an easier fingerprint sensor experience.
Although the purchase price was not disclosed, Melbourne-based AuthenTec (Nasdaq: AUTH) said it would not change its quarterly earning guidance of one-to-two cents per share.
AuthenTec has shipped more than 25 million sensors worldwide and is considered the leader in the personal computer, wireless device and access control markets. |
