The Health and Safety Executive offers free guidance to business advisors
Are you fully briefed on how good health and safety contributes to a successful business? Do your clients believe that health and safety regulations are too costly or complicated? The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is running a free seminar with expert tips for business advisors on how to prevent workplace incidents and accidents.
The seminar will help equip businesses with the simple skills needed to stop accidents happening, and to advise small and medium enterprises on HSE legislation, which aims to prevent injuries to those most at risk.
Statistics reveal that 3.3 million working days were lost in London due to workplace injury and ill health in 2006-7. During that year there were 14,676 reported major injuries and cases of ill health among employees, which led to more than three days off work. Prevention is definitely better than cure and a healthy workforce makes good business sense.
During the day there will be advice on who we are and what we do, as well as the priorities and tools needed for safe SMEs. The full day programme also includes information on where local authorities can help and how we can work together to help grow successful businesses. The London Chambers of Commerce and Business Advisors' Conference takes place on 17 March 2008, from 9.30 - 3.30pm, at EEF, Broadway House, Tothill Street, London SW1H 9NQ.
