Standard and Poor’s Risk Solutions, a leading provider of integrated credit risk solutions, today announced the relaunch of credit risk training services for risk professionals in Europe. Standard & Poor's Risk Solutions will host the first in a series of open, interactive, instructor-led courses that leverage Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services experience in credit risk and Standard & Poor’s Risk Solutions insights into credit portfolio management in London on July 8, 2008.

The one-day course, Credit Risk Portfolio Management, will provide a thorough grounding in credit risk and bank capital management for experienced finance professionals operating at the portfolio level. Through case studies, participants will gain an understanding of the key aspects of active credit portfolio management and its use in effective portfolio and risk management, including an introduction to alternate measures of risk, strategic uses of economic capital, the impact of Basel II on capital management practices, and pricing credit-risky cash flows with default probabilities, recoveries and credit spreads.

Standard & Poor’s Risk Solutions will host a second session on Loss Given Default (LGD) and Downturn LGD: Intelligent Practical Solutions for the low default environment, in London in Autumn 2008. Further details will be announced in due course.
