Managing Director Daniel Spragg to Lead Practice Dedicated to Providing Objective, Independent Risk Management Consulting and Due Diligence Services

Alvarez & Marsal, a leading independent global professional services firm, announced it has formed a dedicated Risk Management Advisory (RMA) practice. Led by managing director Daniel Spragg, the practice provides objective, independent risk management consulting and due diligence services to mid/large cap corporations and private equity firms.

Mr. Spragg brings more than 18 years of technical and management experience in the commercial insurance industry. He is joined by senior director George Alvisio and senior advisor Jack McCarthy, Sr. to spearhead the practice launch.

Based in Philadelphia and responsible for North American business and practice development as the head of RMA, Mr. Spragg specializes in assisting clients in maximizing the value of their risk transfer investment and providing independent market and coverage analysis. Prior to joining A&M, he was senior vice president and chief underwriting officer (CUO) with United National Group. A graduate of Drury University, Mr. Spragg holds a Juris Doctorate from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and is admitted to the Illinois Bar. He also holds several professional designations, including the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF), and is active in the Tort & Insurance practice section of the American Bar Association, serving as vice-chair of the self insurance and risk management committee.

Based in New York, Mr. Alvisio has more than 20 years of consulting, technical and management experience in the commercial insurance brokerage industry. He has developed business solutions aimed at mitigating costs associated with risk transfer and at improving shareholder value. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Alvisio was a national director with Aon Corporation, a global insurance brokerage firm. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame, a master's degree from New York University, and a Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law. Mr. Alvisio is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a member of the Tort & Insurance Practice section of the New York State Bar Association.

As a senior advisor extending across the firm nationally, Mr. McCarthy brings more than 30 years of finance, risk management, tax and accounting experience. Before retiring from The Williams Companies, he served as senior vice president of finance and CFO.
