Felix P. Nater is Designated a Certified Security Consultant

Felix P. Nater, CSC, President of the Long Island based Nater Associates, Ltd. has been designated as a Certified Security Consultant by the International Association of Independent Security Consultant (IAPSC), the nation’s most recognized organization for independent security consultants.

The IAPSC created the Certified Security Consultant designation to separate the experienced independent security consultant from salespeople who call themselves security consultants, and security consultants who operate without significant knowledge or ethics.

The CSC certification signifies that the holder has a depth of knowledge, professional objectivity, is skilled as a security consultant, understands marketing and has a high level of integrity. The CSC examination process consists of an examination focused on:

- Security: Technical, Management, and Forensic
- Security Management Consulting Practices
- Ethics & Best Practices

Felix has over 30 years of criminal and security experience with the United States Postal Inspection Service and private sectors which includes his consulting practice. While with the Postal Inspection Service, Felix was a Division and Regional Training Officer and Program Manager, Firearms Coordinator, Threat Management Coordinator, National Public Information Officer and National Recruitment Program Manager. In addition, Felix served as a Command Sergeant Major in the U. S. Army Reserves where he served in a variety of assignments which included Team Chief, Training NCO, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major. He held Command Sergeants Major positions in a Combat Electronic Warfare Intelligence Battalion, Area Support Group, Medical Brigade and Major Army Reserve Command Sergeant Major where he served as the principal enlisted advisor to commanders on training, supply, maintenance, assignment, promotions, welfare, and morale and family issues.

He was instrumental in developing criminal history tracking data, the national public information program, media relations for the Universal Postmaster’s Union, managing the northeast region’s $1 million dollar training budget and spearheading the New York Division’s Workplace Violence Interdiction Program for Queens and Long Island, New York. He was the Threat Management and Crisis Management Coordinator for Queens and Long Island Postal Districts and led several major investigations as task force leader.

Felix has conducted and trained several thousand postal employees, other agencies, corporations and organizations in workplace violence prevention, firearms, defense tactics, threat assessments and workplace investigations. He has testified in federal, state and local criminal cases and numerous arbitration, EEO and other suitability hearings.

Nater Associates, Ltd. is a Security Management Consulting firm that provides consulting products in Workplace Violence Prevention and Awareness Consulting and Workplace Security Consulting.

Felix is a member of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants, Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, International Facility Managers Association and the American Society of Safety Engineers. As part of the IAPSC, Nater Associates, Ltd. partners to provide clients professional assessments, security policy, plans and programs design, development and management. Felix conducted a major vulnerability risk assessment at 125 postal stations, branches and mail plants on Long Island and recently collaborated with a major defense company to develop a Corporate Mailroom Security Seminar. He wrote the storyboard for training project on Workplace Violence Prevention Program for Security Officers.

He enjoys working with security officers, facility managers, and human resource managers, attorneys while marketing to the healthcare, ministry and facilities.
