Iredell County, NC Office of Emergency Management provides its citizens with the EvacPlanner™, an evacuation preparedness tool for those living close to hazardous sites such as within the 10-50 mile radius of a nuclear plant. Since Iredell County is located just north of the McGuire Nuclear Station in North Carolina, emergency managers are very proactive in developing emergency plans for the citizens within ten miles of the nuclear station. With the EvacPlanner™ in place, citizens living in an at-risk area can identify their emergency reception centers, driving directions, and emergency alert systems before and incident occurs.
