After evaluating a number of market-leading solutions, the City of Santa Barbara has selected Era's noise and operations management system, AirScene.com NOMS, integrated with its proven multilateration flight tracking solution, MSS by Era. Era's deployment in Santa Barbara marks the sixth Era installation in the State of California and the first multilateration-based NOMS system in the state.

Noise monitoring and flight tracking have been growing concerns for the Santa Barbara Airport as flight operations have increased. Thus, airport officials issued an RFP for a proven NOMS system that included the capability to handle the challenging aircraft flight tracking requirements presented by the terrain around the airport.

"After evaluating solutions for flight and noise analysis, we chose Era's multilateration flight tracking and noise monitoring system for its proven performance and quality. Era met and exceeded our technical specifications, and provides higher quality flight and fleet data than traditional radar-dependent technologies," stated Tracy Lincoln, Director of Operations for the Airport.

Era is currently the only NOMS provider that uses an integrated multilateration NOMS. Multilateration provides enormous benefits over traditional radar, such as higher update rates, lower operating costs, better coverage and higher accuracy. Santa Barbara joins some of the largest airport systems in the world including the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and the Houston Airport System (HAS) who are also deploying AirScene.com airport management solutions based on Era's MSS multilateration flight tracking system this year.

"Santa Barbara's selection of Era proves the growing confidence in integrated multilateration NOMS technology," said Bill Colligan, Era's VP and General Manager, Airport Operations Solutions. "We are proud to be the only installed and proven multilateration provider for the NOMS market and look forward to serving the Santa Barbara community."  .
