TROY, NY— October 28, 2005— The Business Review has named MapInfo one of the Great Places to Work in the Capital Region for 2005. The award recognizes the company’s achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of benefits, working conditions and company culture. For the second year in a row, MapInfo was selected from a group of 130 companies, making the list of finalists on the strength of its employee evaluations. “It is a great honor to be selected as one of the great places to work in the Capital Region for the second year in a row. This award is a testament to the enthusiasm and commitment of our dedicated associates,” said Mark Cattini, CEO and president, MapInfo. “We are proud of the positive work environment we’ve created and fostered and are especially pleased that our associates recognize these efforts and are benefiting from the opportunities available to them at MapInfo.”
The top companies will be profiled in a special supplement that will appear in the December 9 issue of the Business Review and will be honored at a gala luncheon on December 8 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albany. Companies were evaluated on information collected from employees responding to a Web-based survey. The results were analyzed and scored by assigning points to each question, and weighing them according to emphasis on creativity, flexibility and collegiality.
