Synopsis
The impact of Workplace Violence affects the individual as it does the business. That affect has a negative impact on the business, customers, clients and other employees. Sufficient statistics and available research data speaks volumes on the contributing factors of workplace violence and the workplace predators not to mention attacks or assaults by non-employees, customers, vendors etc. Employers expecting to provide for a safe workplace should know that assessing employee misconduct and the impact it ultimately has on the business is part of the Threat Assessment and makes good business sense. Insurance providers might consider reductions based on competent crime prevention efforts. Anything at minimizing mandated costs incident to a catastrophe or violent act demonstrates a proactive intervention and implies an active management participation in attempting to avert, contain or minimize greater risk to the workplace. Ignorance as a defense is indefensible when existing conditions or circumstances remain uncorrected.
