In the first initiative of its kind in the region, Dubai Government has launched a new corporation called Nedaa (Professional Communication Corporation) that will provide wireless communication services using radio waves.

Providing advanced communication solutions to the private and public sectors, Nedaa has over 70 wireless stations, with most located in Dubai and Northern Emirates.

The service allows subscribers to make group calls at low costs after paying a subscription fee. Private sector companies can subscribe to the service if they fulfill certain rules and conditions.

"The basic goal of Nedaa is to provide advanced, unified and secure professional radio communications to subscribers at relatively lower costs, using state of the art technology and skills of competent and trained employees" said Saeed bin Abed, CEO of Nedaa.

Nedaa also provides a tracking system for companies like taxi operators. As the service is coded, it allows subscribers to block other users if the matter sent via a text message is of a sensitive or confidential nature.

"The new corporation has been created to enhance internal communication between companies. It is highly secure as it uses advanced coding between the communicating parties. It is more cost-effective compared to other kinds of communication systems. More significantly, it can be used in remote areas when other communication modes are disrupted. It is an ideal solution for companies in oil and gas, courier, restaurants delivery, taxis, factories, real estate sites, government departments, airports, free zones and tourism agencies" Saeed bin Abed added.

Some of the public sector companies that have already subscribed include Dubai police, Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Health Authority, DEWA, Dubai Ports Authority, Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department.

The private sector companies that have joined the platform include TECOM, Dubai Investment Park, EMAAR, Emirates Security Services, Jumeirah International, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai World Trade Center and Dubai Properties.
