Editorial

Unexpected crisis caused by disasters can leave individuals, families, and businesses devastated.

Through crisis counseling support and information, the majority of disaster survivors can pick up the pieces, and go on with their lives. Crisis counseling for survivors helps survivors develop coping techniques.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Florida’s State Emergency Response Team (SERT) are working hard to lighten the load that comes with disasters.

FEMA funded programs offer a wide-range of services to assist the affected victims on the road to recovery. These include crisis counseling, and disaster legal assistance.
