Editorial

Paranoia grips countries all over the world; governments are passing exceptive laws that give their military the right to participate in international crisis management, with our without a UN mandate.

Business Continuity professionals in Delaware can now network with industry professionals, thanks to the Association of Contingency Planners' new chapter.

Geographical data can now be easily gathered and shared with the CivX Integrator, through a local network or the internet.

This is the time for professionals to get organized - network extensively, share expertise and exchange key information.  Countries and Corporations need to work together to build strong barriers to counter both man-made and natural disasters, that may strike at any time.

Our April issue promises updates on new products, services and events in Emergency Management!

Featured White Paper
Title Workplace Security: The Potential Threats Affecting the Small to Midsize Businesses
Author Felix P. Nater
Company Nater Associates, Ltd.
Synopsis
This paper will attempt to identify security challenges impeding the small to midsize business community's decisions, to implement or not implement needed and relevant security countermeasures, policies and plans, and their ability to sustain them. In addition, it will lay out a foundation for the argument that without affordable expertise, they will remain “Targets of Opportunity” or “Soft Target” until such time the expertise and the understanding the needs, is available to assist in the deployment of technology to support those plans. In addition, offer recommendations and insights to help a community bridge their current strengths and weaknesses based on observations and the potential vulnerabilities as a result.
