Buffalo, manufacturers of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions, has announced the release of its DriveStation FlexNet. The DriveStation FlexNet is a combination of an external USB Drive and a NAS Solution. Users can toggle between the two connection modes - USB or Ethernet -- with the push of a button. This new feature comes with a massive storage of 500 GB, 640 GB and 1 TB. The company claims that it brings high speed with the convenience of centralized storage. It is also supported with Turbo USB, for faster transfer rates and the Memeo AutoBackup which automatically backs up files on a PC or Macintosh computer.
Security is also kept in mind as the Secure Lock Ware Software for Windows PCs encrypts the important personal data protecting it from theft and unauthorized access.
The device features the 10/100 Ethernet Network Storage functionality and a USB 2.0 connection for it to work as a NAS device and a regular Plug-n-Play external hard drive. The DriveStation FlexNet is a single hard drive storage device (no RAID configuration) with a compact and sleek design.
"The Indian market would be excited to have a dual function external hard drive -- providing flexibility to switch between USB or network attached connectivity. The faster speed with TurboUSB will give all the more reason for fast running Indian Consumers," said Milinda Banerjee, Liaison Representative Buffalo Inc, India.
Backed by a 3-year warranty and toll-free technical support, the DriveStation FlexNet will be available in the Indian market by January at an estimated street price of Rs. 11,000 (500 GB), Rs. 12,000 (640 GB), Rs. 15,000 (1 TB). The product can be purchased through its distributors and dealers. |
