Now that some counties are considered federal disasters, federal relief is coming in.
The state says the Federal Emergency Management Agency's first Disaster Recovery Center will open Monday in Reedsburg.
Wisconsin Emergency Management says centers in the other declared emergency counties are expected to open and those locations haven't been decided yet.
On Saturday, President Bush declared a disaster for Columbia, Crawford, Sauk, Vernon and Milwaukee counties.
The state says a joint field office is to open in Madison. It'll be staffed by FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and other federal and state agencies.
FEMA crews are expected to continue assessing damage in the private sector on Monday.
They'll start assessing public damage next week. |
