Swisscom is Switzerland's leading telecom company with a total of around 19,000 employees. Precise Biometrics has received an order from Swisscom worth SEK 2.4 million. The order is a follow-up order and comprises both keyboards with fingerprint sensors and licenses of Precise BioMatchTM.

Swisscom has been using the biometric solution since 2006 and has several thousands of users already deployed. The software solution is based on Precise BioMatchTM and utilizes Precise BioKeyboardTM as well as laptop-integrated fingerprint sensors. The current order is being delivered and invoiced during the fourth quarter.

The use of biometrics offers Swisscom's employees efficient and secure logon to desktops, networks and applications. Replacing passwords with fingerprint technology not only simplifies everyday life for the user, it also reduces costs and IT security risks for the company.

Precise Biometrics' CEO, Thomas Marschall, is satisfied that a number of customer projects results in follow-up orders. "It is most pleasing that we now have several significant customers that endorse our solutions and continuously expand their biometric deployments. We see this progress with customers in the government sector, but also in industries such as bank, insurance and telecommunications. Swisscom is one of the best examples of our successful partnerships with end-customers", says Thomas Marschall.
