The sixth generation of fire detection control panels "BC216" was introduced by LST in the year 2000; at present, 125 employees achieve a turnover of 18 million Euro.

New 24VDC power supply units according to EN 54-4:2006

The Power Supply Units Series NT24 serve for a safe and uninterrupted power supply which is required, for example, in fire detection systems and extinguishing systems.

For various applications, power supply modules with a maximum output current of 2.3A or 8.4A, as well as several housing versions for wall mounting and for installation into 19" switch cabinets are available.

Due to the sophisticated battery monitoring and the evaluation of different causes of faults, the power supply units fully comply with the standard EN 54-4:2006.

Each Power Supply Unit Series NT24 consists of a power supply module, a power supply housing, the optional stand-by batteries and optional auxiliary modules.

  • Two versions of the integrated switched-mode power supply are available: the Power Supply Module NTM2402-1 with a maximum output current of 2.3A and the Power Supply Module NTM2408-1 with a maximum output current of 8.4A.
  • The Power Supply Housings NTG24-1 and NTG24-2 for wall mounting can accommodate the power supply module as well as the batteries and optional auxiliary modules.

The 19" Power Supply Front Panel NTG24-1CE is designed for mounting into switch cabinets or 19” racks. The batteries are placed in the switch cabinet.

The output of the power supply modules is short-circuit-protected and current-limited. In case of a mains power fault, the optional stand-by batteries ensure the uninterrupted power supply.

The temperature compensated battery charging and the protection against total discharge form the basis for a long battery life.

The battery monitoring according to EN 54-4:2006 comprises the periodical check of the battery voltage under load and the measurement of the internal resistance of the battery. The integrated earth leakage monitoring of the module can be deactivated for special applications.

Possible faults are individually indicated by the display and operating field at the front of the housing. The integrated buzzer can be silenced by means of a button.

Fire Detection Control Panels Series BC216

The fire detection control panel BC216-1 is designed as a modular system. According to your system‘s concept and size, it can be expanded individually. The control panel provides two slots for the connection of function modules (Conventional Detector Interface GIF8-1 or Loop Interface LIF64-1) to which a maximum of 16 detector lines in addressable conventional technology or a maximum of two ADM loops or a combination of the both can be connected. In this way, you obtain the highest degree of flexibility for virtually any task. The ADM loop principle offers intelligent analogue ring bus technology with bi-directional data transfer. Each loop provides for the software-aided administration of up to 198 physical address points in a maximum of 128 detector zones. Addressable conventional technology allows for the connection of automatic and non-automatic fire detectors as well as the unambiguous identification of the activated detector in the event of an alarm.

Depending on the respective system, a Fire Brigade Interface FWI2-1, a Fire Brigade Interface Additional Board FWZ2-1, an LED-Display Field LAB48 as well as further optional componentries can be installed in addition.

Easy parameterization on the control panel‘s display and operating unit, via a PC keyboard, or by means of a PC software enables you to tailor the control panel to your individual requirements.

BCnet216 19" Slide-in Technology

The BCnet216 in 19“ slide-in technology is modularly designed sectional control panel for mid-sized to very large fire detection control panels and consists of individual fire detection control panel modules. Each 19 “rack RACK216-1E provides 7 slide-in positions. A maximum of two fire detection control panel modules with power unit BCM216-3EPS and up to six fire detection control panel modules BCM216-3E or BCM216-3ELG, respectively, can be installed in a rack (if two BCM216-3EPS
are used, the number of fire detection control panel modules BCM216-3E or BCM216-3ELG, respectively, that can be used is reduced to a maximum of four). The control panel can easily be adapted to any required system size and provides literally unlimited possibilities also for future extensions.

All BCnet sectional control panels are connected with each other via a redundant high-security network (the Global Security System network GSSnet). Due to the decentralized structure, the failure safety of the entire system is significantly improved compared to conventionally designed fi re detection control panels. The fi re detection control panel modules BCM216 -3EPS and BCM216-3E each provide two slots for the connection of function modules (Conventional Detector Interface GIF8-1 or Loop Interface LIF64-1) to which a total of 16 detector lines in addressable conventional technology or a total of two ADM loops or a combination of the both can be connected. The Fire Detection Control Panel Module BCM216-3ELG includes two integrated loop interfaces for the connection of two ADM loops. The maximum expansion of a 19“RACK216-1E with 7 slide-ins therefore amounts to 14 ADM loops or 112 conventional detector lines.

Easy parameterization by means of PC software enables you to optimally adapt the control panel to your individual requirements.

LED Display Field LAB48

The LED Display Field LAB48 serves for the indication of the events of detectors, detector zones, actuations, transmitting devices, or alarming devices on fire detection control panels Series BC216 or BC016 as well as the events of fl ooding zones or extinguishing systems on extinguishing control panels Series LC216.

The LED Display Field is designed to be installed into fire detection control panels Series BC216 or into the LED Display Tableau LAT288:

  • The LAB48 can be mounted into a fi re detection control panel Series BC216 with display and operating field, to which it is directly connected.
  • The LED Display Tableau LAT288 can accommodate up to 3 LED Display Fields LAB48 and the Remote Tableau Drive Unit PTU288-1. Due to the actuation via the INFO bus, the LED Display Tableau is a universal remote tableau for all fire detection control panels Series BC216 and BC016 as well as the extinguishing control panel Series LC216.

48 LED pairs are arranged in two rows on the componentry. Each LED pair can be freely assigned to the individual events. The left LEDs are intended for displaying the alarm or the activation, or for displaying a system condition, respectively. The right LEDs indicate the disablement or the fault condition of the assigned system component.

The LED Display Field is available in multiple versions with different LED colors for varying applications.

Each LED pair can be individually labeled by means of labeling strips which are inserted into the front foil of the case cover.

The componentry is shipped with the necessary accessory for trouble-free mounting on the case cover of the fi re detection control panel or in the LED Display Tableau.

EXTINGUISHING CONTROL PANELS

Fire Detection Control Panel BC06-1/BC06-2

Already in the basic version the fire detection control panels Series BC06 are equipped with four detector lines and, owing to its sophisticated factory settings, are immediately ready for operation. This allows for quick and efficient application of the product.

The conventional technology allows for the connection of automatic and non-automatic fire detectors as well as a wide range of special detectors with contact output. Alarms from manual call points and from automatic detectors that are connected together to one detector line can be differentiated and thus evaluated differently by the fire detection control panel. Thanks to the two auxiliary inputs whose parameters can be freely set as well as the eight open-collector outputs with predefined function, manifold tasks in the field of fire alarm technology can be realized.

The optional evacuation function serves for the actuation of alarming devices independent from activated alarms. Depending on the parameterization, different country-specific regulations (e.g., NEN 2575) can be observed.

The fire detection control panels Series BC06 provide a slot for expansion modules to which either the Detector Zone Extension ZEB2-1 or the Extinguishing Board EXB1-1 can be connected. With the Detector Zone Extension ZEB2-1 the control panel can be upgraded from four to six detector zones.

By means of the Extinguishing Board the BC06 can be used as an extinguishing control panel according to EN 12094-1 with one flooding zone. The module provides appropriate inputs and outputs for controlling and monitoring a flooding zone. A printer for the event log can be connected via the optional Serial Interface Module SIM06-1.

The Fire Detection Control Panel BC06-2 differs from the BC06-1 by the additionally integrated 4-digit electronic alarm counter.

Extinguishing Board EXB1-1

The Extinguishing Board EXB1-1 serves for the actuation of an extinguishing system with one flooding zone. The parameters for the required functions and delay times are set in accordance with the applied extinguishing agent (gas, water, etc.) as well as with the country specific regulations during the commissioning of the fire detection control panel Series BC06.

The Extinguishing Board controls and monitors the following components of the extinguishing system:

  • The control device for the extinguishing agent (e.g., solenoid valve).
  • Manual call points for the activation (activation device) and for the prevention (emergency hold device) of the flooding process.
  • Alarming appliances (sirens, luminescent warning signs, etc.) for indicating the pending or already executed flooding process.

Inputs and Outputs

The Extinguishing Board EXB1-1 provides the following inputs and outputs for the activation and monitoring of the extinguishing system:

  • Zone input for activation devices (for the manual activation of the extinguishing process)
  • Zone input for emergency hold devices (for the manual delay of the extinguishing process)
  • Input for fault detectors
  • Output for signalling devices for displaying the Activated condition
  • Output for signalling devices for displaying the Released condition
  • Extinguishing output (line-monitored actuation of an activation device, e.g., a solenoid valve)

FIRE DETECTORS

Optical Laser Smoke Detector

The addressable Optical Laser Smoke Detector 7251 uses the scattered light principle, and was developed for the precise detection of smoke particles in a wide range of applications. The modern design of the sensing chamber allows to reliably evaluate the characteristics of fire.

Due to the high sensitivity of the laser detection chamber, the detector is ideal for applications where early fire detection is crucial:

  • Computer rooms
  • Clean room manufacturing
  • Hospitals
  • Aspiration smoke detection systems

Depending on the application, the high sensitivity of the detector is individually adjustable in 9 steps between 0.06%/m and 6.4%/m and provides a number of special applications, which can not be covered using standard optical smoke detectors.

An optional pre-alarm can be activated two sensitivity levels before reaching the alarm level.

The proven ADM loop technology with System Sensor/200 protocol establishes a permanent communication between the fire detection control panel and the detector. That ensures a periodical function testing of the detector. In the control panel all types of fires are detected by continuously comparing fire patterns.

The influence of contamination on the optical measurement system is reduced with the help of the laser principle and furthermore compensated for by using intelligent evaluation algorithms. With that, the response sensitivity of the detector is kept constant for a long time – a further effective step to avoid false alarms.

The two LEDs with 360° visibility indicate the activated condition of the detector. The detector address is selected with two decadic rotary switches, thus allowing to quickly change the detector without additional tools.

A detector function test can be conveniently conducted using a magnet. The detector can be attached to various bases and it can be protected against theft.
