This paper discusses common pitfalls in business continuity planning from a CFO’s perspective. The following four problems are addressed: IT plans are not properly sized to protect critical functions. Technology for building plans is too complex. Emergency response and business recovery processes are not integrated. Public sector resources are not appropriately understood and leveraged. Suggestions for avoiding these pitfalls are included.
