Synopsis

"Critical infrastructures are "systems and assets whether physical or virtual, so vital to the Unites States that the incapacity or destruction of such systems and assets would have a debilitating impact on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination of these matters. " The National Strategy for the Physical Protection of Critical Infrastructures and Key Assets, Department of Homeland Security, February 2003.

This paper descibes a software solution called eB MAPS that enables emergency managers and planners from multiple agencies and organizations to work together, share information about assets and resources and plan, implement and monitor actions to reduce the vulnerability and increase the level of preparedness of critical infrastructures and key assets to potential threats.
