Biography

Damian is currently responsible for managing the National Consulting Practice for IBM’s Business Resilience and Continuity Services. This includes business continuity, information security and high availability services which assess current capabilities and risks, design solutions, develop recommendations and provide actual project management and delivery of projects. Damian has developed new and innovative methods in the business continuity planning approach. Consulting Magazine recognized this by naming him one of the Top 25 Most Influential Consultants of 2003.

Prior to joining IBM Damian was the Vice President of Consulting for T-Systems North America and prior to that he was Senior Vice President of Professional Services for Comdisco Availability Services. His responsibilities at Comdisco included managing 200 Comdisco employees who managed approximately 400 active consulting relationships and 150 active projects. His final year in that position his organization generated approximately $45M in revenue. He and his team have helped many customers prepare for and recovery from various disruptions and outages.

Prior to the professional services role Damian managed the Product Management & Development organizations that was responsible for the allocation of a partially responsible for $50M capital investment in the recovery facilities around the globe. During his tenure in that role Comdisco made four significant product/service introductions. He also worked closely with organizations such as EMC and Network Appliance to develop joint “high availability” offerings.

Damian joined Comdisco in 1992 as a Consultant. He held positions in sales, sales support and professional services. His expertise includes the development of Disaster Recovery Strategies and Plans for large IBM, DEC and HP data centers, and distributed client/server platforms, multiple Business Impact. Analyses for data centers and business units, and system analysis, design, and development. He has worked on approximately 75 projects for various customers in the financial, healthcare and manufacturing sectors, including Bank One, Dow Chemical, Devon Energy, Ameritech and ABN AMRO. He has met with approximately 500 customers about their recovery needs, activities and actions.

Damian earned Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Marquette University. He participated in an international studies program in Rome, Italy. He later received his M.B.A. from Wayne State University, and was inducted as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, a society of business professionals that have excelled in academic world. Damian is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP).
