The company`s founder, John Wheelock, introduced electromechanical signaling products such as the NBC chime tone that is still in use today. During the 1970`s the company introduced strobes, speakers and a patented horn strobe combination audible-visual alert, which became the standard of the life safety market.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was enacted in 1992. Wheelock responded to the emergency notification requirements for the hearing impaired and epileptic individuals with patented economic and synchronized notification circuits. The newest additions to our leading fire alarm product line include the field selectable SPEC1FIRE™ multi-candela appliances, higher intensity strobes and weatherproof speaker strobes. Specifiers can choose from the industry`s widest selection of products to meet application requirements.

More than 400 associates continuously improve Wheelock`s products, processes and services to meet the needs of our customers. A majority of the company`s products and systems are made in the USA, use state-of-the-art surface mount technology, undergo rigorous quality assurance and automated testing and are backed by a 3-year warranty. Our advanced enterprise requirement planning system is networked to a worldwide supply chain by our logistics professionals and provides 98% on-time delivery with 99.9% quality levels. With over 27 patents from our in-house design team for excellence capability, we continue to expand our portfolio of intellectual property.
