Tyco Fire & Building Products produces ductile iron, ASTM A-536, Grade 65-45-12 for all of its Grinnell grooved products. Once the base iron is produced, magnesium is added in precise measurements to develop the ductile iron grade. The metal is tested chemically, physically, and microscopically prior to being released for production. Once cast, the ductile iron is again checked to ensure conformance with these specifications.
 
Rubber Injection: Tyco Fire & Building Products understands the complexity of providing gaskets capable of exceeding customer demands. With state of the art rubber injection presses and tooling, we are able to mold several types of rubber compounds to meet the various needs of the mechanical market. The gaskets are manufactured in our facility in Alabama and each gasket is inspected to ensure it is defect free. Physical tests are performed on the gaskets to verify compliance with specifications such as ASTM D-2000.
 
The Paint Process: Grinnell Grooved Products are painted using a computer controlled semi-automatic process. This process ensures that each product is spray washed, dried, pre-heated, dipped and fully cured prior to being assembled or packaged for shipment. All painted parts are quality controlled to maintain consistent paint coverage and surface condition.
 
Tooling: Our engineering department provides product designs to our pattern centers as well as contracted pattern makers. The Grinnell patterns and our foundry molding machines are capable of providing the closest tolerance parts available using the green sand method of casting.

DSB-1 DRY SPRINKLER BOOT

The DSB-1 dry sprinkler boot will combat the potentially damaging temperature changes that can adversely affect dry sprinklers installed in freezers. DSB-1 dry sprinkler boot is an EPDM, 50 durometertype rubber boot designed for installation with all vertical, or pendent, dry sprinklers. Once installed, the boot creates an airtight seal, eliminating the build up of potentially dangerous condensation by maintaining consistent temperatures both outside and within the freezer area.

PRE-ACTION AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER, DD-1 CONDENSATE DRAIN, DELUGE SPRINKLER

The DD-1 Condensate Drain is a pre-manufactured drum drip for installation in dry-pipe sprinkler, deluge sprinkler and pre-action automatic sprinkler systems. The DD-1 Condensate Drain is made from electric-resistance-welded carbon and alloy steel mechanical tubing, ASTM A513. After the machining process is complete, the 1`` male outlets shall have a wall thickness greater than or equal to 0.133 inches and an O.D. of 1.315 inches. The DD-1 Condensate Drain is quick and easy to install.

AQUAMIST SYSTEM

The ``MCC`` Pump Skid Package is the self-contained control center of the AquaMist System. The compact skid unit has been professionally designed and assembled to ease system installation and to meet the most stringent project requirements. Power must be provided for the control cabinet and pump controller. Detection circuits must be installed and wired to the control cabinet.An adequate water supply must be piped to the pump supply piping inlet.

HEAVY DENSITY SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

AquaMist Systems utilize the newest and most unique nozzles developed and approved for fire protection. They offer an alternative to gaseous, foam, and heavy density sprinkler systems. By utilizing a higher pressure than a normal sprinkler system, but a 50-80% lower water flow, the AquaMist Systems use less water more effectively, reduce pipe sizes and labor costs, and minimize cleanup and water damage.
