CONSTRUCTION
Thales Navigation offers GPS systems providing affordable and reliable centimeter-level accuracy during every stage of the construction process. A Thales Navigation GPS solution increases both productivity and accuracy when coordinating or staking out points. This productivity can reduce labor costs and increase profitability on competitive construction projects. GEODESY
Thales Navigation provides GPS survey systems optimized for maximum accuracy during geodetic surveys. There is no substitute for using GPS to measure the relationships between points on the earth`s surface and the determining of gravity differences between those points in geodesy. Geodesists achieve accurate point control with the use of a Thales Navigation GPS survey system in a fraction of the time required by other traditional survey methods. Thales Navigation offers GPS solutions ideal for Geodesy: Ashtech Solutions, GNSS Studio, Z-Max Surveying System, Z-Xtreme and FAST Survey.
PRECIPITABLE WATER VAPOR, METEOROLOGY, ICGRS SYSTEM
GPS is a satellite-based positioning system used for navigation, relative positioning, and time transfer. However, as GPS signals pass through the Earth`s atmosphere precipitable water vapor (PWV) slows them. This fact can be used by meteorologists to improve their weather models. In an effort to increase accuracy and reduce cost in measuring atmospheric water vapor to create weather forecasts, meteorologist use GPS. GPS is an ``all-weather`` system in that the results are unaffected by rainfall, clouds or other torrential conditions. Prediction of the global warming must be based on precise knowledge of the global content of atmospheric water vapor because of its strong green house effect. Water vapor information with high space-time resolution is also required for the prediction of localized torrential rains. To perform these studies, Thales Navigation offers cost-effective GPS solutions such as iCGRS System or Internet-Enabled Continuous Geodetic Reference Station, and:
GBSS, ASHTECH METEOROLOGICAL MODULE, GEODETIC BASE STATION SOFTWARE
The Ashtech Meteorological Module is designed to operate in tandem with the Ashtech Geodetic Base Station Software (GBSS) for the display and conversion of meteorological sensor data.
The Geodetic Base Station Software (GBSS) provides advanced and affordable GPS base-station control technology. Taking full advantage of the Windows 32-bit multitasking, multi-threaded operating system, the Geodetic Base Station Software automatically logs GPS data to your PC.
INTERNET ENABLED CONTINUOUS GEODETIC REFERENCE STATION, µ-MANAGER, MICRO-MANAGER, µZ-CGRS
Micro-Manager (µ-Manager) is a powerful reference station software package, available in standard and professional configurations. Both versions enable you to quickly and easily inspect the health and status of your receiver, configure receiver parameters, download data files, and upload firmware to your µZ-CGRS (Continuous Geodetic Reference Station) and iCGRS (Internet-Enabled CGRS).
MICROZ-CGRS
The MicroZ Continuous Geodetic Reference Station (µZ-CGRS) provides the world`s most powerful GPS Reference Station technology. The MicroZ incorporates patented Ashtech Z-Tracking technology for accurate and reliable positions. Designed for high-accuracy scientific, land survey, and engineering applications, the µZ-CGRS system is ideal as a permanent GPS base station.
LAND SEISMIC EXPLORATION
Thales Navigation offers a number of GPS surveying solutions for tracking, logging and reporting longitudinal, transverse and surface seismic points in land seismic exploration. When positioning these points, accuracy is vital and Thales Navigation GPS provides unrivalled centimeter precision. Seismologists rely on an array of technologies to detect seismic vibrations, and GPS positioning data has become an integral component in tracking the behavior of different types of seismic waves.
Several Thales Navigation GPS surveying systems are recommended for land seismic exploration, registering seismic surface boundaries and exploring the internal structure of the earth: Ashtech Solutions, GNSS Studio, Z-Max Surveying System and Z-Xtreme.
CONTINUOUSLY OPERATING REFERENCE STATIONS
Surveyors depend on access to accurate control points for their work. These control points have traditionally been in-ground monuments whose coordinates were regularly updated using conventional surveying techniques. While the cost to perform regular surveys has increased, surveyors have begun to rely more heavily on GPS for their surveying. In response, national and state agencies are increasingly providing Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) for control. The data from these receivers are archived on central server computers so that surveyors can access them for use in their work. This reduces the need to send crews to the field to re-survey the in-ground monuments. Even the crews sent out are increasingly using GPS to re-survey these ground monuments. The solutions used: Geodetic Base Station Software (GBSS), Micro-Manager, and MicroZ-CGRS.
MAPPING, TOPOGRAPHY
Quality mapping and topography is one of the basic needs of agriculture, construction, mining and navigation. In performing a cartographic or topographic survey, both accuracy and speed are vital. Nothing compares to GPS surveying when setting control points for obtaining mapping details. Thales Navigation has designed a number of GPS survey systems to meet the pressing needs of cartographers and topographers: Ashtech Solutions, FAST Survey, GNSS Studio, ProMark2, and Z-Max Surveying System.
