About Us

OmniSTAR Inc., is a sister company of John E. Chance and Associates and part of the Fugro Group, one of the world's foremost survey service companies. OmniSTAR's involvement in precise positioning goes back over 20 years. In the mid-1980's, before GPS was fully operational, the precursor of OmniSTAR provided North America with the World's first round-the-clock satellite positioning service.

With the advent of GPS, OmniSTAR, Inc. has built on this expertise in satellite technology and precise geo-location to develop a continent wide Differential GPS service incorporating a proprietary "Virtual Base Station" wide area differential solution which provides unequaled accuracy.

For OmniSTAR Customer Service is also a priority. The telephone is answered 24 hours a day 7 days a week by an OmniSTAR employee - no voice mail or answering service!

How It Works

OmniSTAR's unique "Virtual Base Station" technology generates corrections optimized for the user's location. OmniSTAR receivers output both high quality RTCM-SC104 Version 2 corrections and differentially corrected Lat/Long in NMEA format.
