Bosch Security Systems showcased its new Aegis illuminators at the Security exhibition in Essen, Germany. Combining innovation in lighting technology and product design, Aegis illuminators answer long-standing performance-related issues identified by the security industry.

Aegis is the only LED illuminator specifically designed to compensate for LED degradation over time. The optical output of a typical LED illuminator will degrade by up to 10 percent within the first few months of operation and continue to degrade during the operational life of the illuminator. LED degradation is a serious performance-related issue identified by security specifiers, consultants, and end users alike that results in poor light output, reduced image quality and reduced illumination range.

Aegis illuminators automatically control and adjust light output to compensate for LED degradation and guarantee a constant level of lighting performance for the life of the illuminator. This patent pending Constant Light technology enables uncompromising night-time performance.

Aegis illuminators also feature Black Diamond micro-refractive lens technology, which bends and shapes light output for increased range (to 270 meters) and wide beam patterns of up to 120°. Black Diamond delivers even illumination by directing light to the foreground and background of the camera's entire field of view for night-time images free from the hotspots and over exposure common with other IR illuminators. An installation-friendly power regulation circuit means the lamp can be powered from any 12/24 V AC/DC power source, eliminating the need for a separate power supply unit and enabling easier, more aesthetically pleasing installations.

Bosch also showcased its newly released Aegis White Light illuminator at Essen, designed to deliver the visible even illumination needed by color and day/night cameras.
