Defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. has been awarded a contract to provide logistics and systems services for the U.S. Navy in the U.S. and abroad.
The contract was awarded by the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in San Diego. Lockheed said that the period of performance is a three-year base period worth up to $59 million. Two additional award term periods raise the potential value to $189 million.
Under terms of the new contract, Lockheed Martin will provide a range of services including logistics planning, configuration management, system integration, system installations, technical documentation, training development, customer support and technical field support. The programs these services support are in the areas of Navy command, control, communications and computers, plus intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
Shares of Lockheed Martin rose $1.90, or 1.7 percent, to close at $115.72 Friday.
