Nallatech, a supplier of COTS FPGA solutions, announced the first customer shipments of its new VXS-610 dual FPGA and PowerPC multiprocessor and its new XMC-210 FPGA and dual-channel 3 GSPS A/D XMC mezzanine to several defense customers in the US and Europe.

The VXS-610 VXS multiprocessor features two Xilinx Virtex-5 SX95T or LX155T FPGAs, on-board PowerPC and two PMC/XMC sites. The XMC-210 PMC/XMC mezzanine features an on-board Xilinx Virtex-5 SX95T or LX155T FPGA, coupled directly to two 8 bit, 3GSPS A/D converters.

Nallatech stated that both products offer the highest levels of performance and I/O density for sensor processing applications, including signal intelligence, software defined radio and electronics warfare.

"The award of multiple contracts for our new Xilinx Virtex-5 based rugged embedded computing solutions from major defense contractors and in advance of the official product launch dates demonstrates how well these products align with the needs of the sensor processing community," said Craig Anderson, CEO at Nallatech. "These first product shipments mark a significant accomplishment in our VXS and XMC product development program and demonstrate our ability to deliver deployment-ready solutions to the defense market."

Nallatech also recently announced three other XMC products for sensor processing applications - the XMC-220 FPGA and 16 bit analog input and output XMC mezzanine, the XMC-230 FPGA processing XMC mezzanine and the XMC-231 FPGA and FPDP XMC mezzanine. All three products share the same Virtex-5 based processing engines as the VXS-610 and XMC-210. First shipments of these products will take place in Q4 2008, to fulfill other contract awards with several defense customers.

VXS-610 and XMC-210 are available immediately. XMC-220, XMC-230 and XMC-231 will be shipping in Q4 2008.
